February might be
the shortest month but we have it jam packed with lots of fun things going on.
We have new inventory arriving from CHA, new classes and ideas, Crops, Clubs and
so much more. With one month into 2013 come and gone we have only 11 more to
go.
Valentines is
around the corner, and to me it's a day when I get to acknowledge the friends
and family in my life to whom I have given piece of my heart , they say love is
blind... I hope not. There is so much I love and I want to cherish every bit of
it.
I am currently
working an album "What I love about you" It's an ABC album about my sweet
precious grandson. It goes something like this... "A" is for Aedan All the
things I love about you. "B" is for one of your many nicknames we have for you
"Baby Baluga" "C" is for Children are our gifts from God, and what a beautiful
gift you are. "D" is for your Determination, "E" is for your Eagerness to learn
new things "F" is for your funny personality. You get the point.
I had
mentioned last month that my goal for 2013 was to live life in the moment, and
so far I have kept that goal. I continue to work hard but now I work harder at
enjoying my life, my family and all the things I love. I enjoy writing simple
thoughts in my journal. I have to admit I feel better, stronger and re-charged
by doing this.
Shortly before the passing of my beloved husband he said
these words to a lifelong friend, I love you. AND to this day that friend tells
me he has made a commitment to tell someone he loves them every day. Sometimes
in our busy lives we take things for granted and forget the most important thing
we can give- our love. Take the time to say these 3 simple words to
someone ... I LOVE YOU. .. Happy Valentine's Day I give you a piece of my
heart.

AWW!!! My
BABY is 3! Sorry, I just can't get over the fact that Aedan is 3
years old!
Time flies! Of course anyone that sees him swears he is
at least 4! He is such a BIG BOY!
January was a crazy month for us,

new FabScraps lines Little Peeps and Summer! They are precious in every way (and
a little humor is found in the Summer Line, see if you can find it!) and carry
the quality and vintage vibe that we expect from FabScraps! I know once you see
this Summer line it will make you smirk as well and you can't help but LOVE

Hey there
everyone!
It is February and
love is in the air and creativity is everywhere! We have been super busy down at
the store moving and bustling around. I hope that everyone's New Year is off to
a great start and so are your resolutions. I personally have been aiming to lose
some of that holiday weight and commited to more healthier options; I always
encourage a healthy life style and I hope that it may inpire many of you to do
the same. It does not have to be anything intense, it could be as simple as
replacing a candybar with an apple or going for an evening walk. I know you will
notice a little more pep in your step and a difference in how you
feel.
Come down to the
store and recieve all the inspiration you need from the fresh new layouts on the
floor to all the awesome classes that we have lined up. We have had tons of
requests for classes and they are filling up fast so do not hesitate, grab a
friend or two and make some weekend plans to come and join us for one of our
many classes. You never know what you are going to learn and I promise after one
you will be hooked!
This month I have
been inspired with the Luminarte paints. Within each package there are three
colors and a resist powder that can either be used with the included medium or
with water. There are dozens of ways to use these powders and the best part is
you pick how bright or light you want them. They have an eye catching glimmer
and are so easy to use; so take my advie and give them a
try.

Every month we will be posting a
challenge on our Facebook, Blog, in our newsletter etc. The Challenge will be
the same, you can just access it from all outlets! The challenge will be both a
product and sketch challenge. We will provide you with a sketch and a line that
your layout (or project) must be completed from. The layout must be 80% of that
product line, so yes, you can add more of your own embellishments and touches!
Every month our design team will provide you with samples and ideas to get those
creative juices going. (They WILL NOT actually be in the challenge) With that
said the challenge and prizes are available to ANYONE except store employees and
immediate families of store employees! Yes, that means you can even be from out
of town!
All you have to do is complete the
challenge and turn it in to us by the
deadline and we will announce the winners!
***Note that our Challenge themes
are always a month behind. We intend
that for you to finish your project from start to finish.
Our winners are picked by a blind
panel of judges that consist of Manufacturers, Designers, and Reps!
THAT EASY!

One
day a young man was standing in the middle of the town proclaiming that he had
the most beautiful heart in the whole valley. A large crowd gathered and they
all admired his heart for it was perfect. There was not a mark or a flaw in
it.
Yes,
they all agreed it truly was the most beautiful heart they had ever seen. The
young man was very proud and boasted more loudly about his beautiful
heart.
Suddenly,
an old man appeared at the front of the crowd and said “Why, your heart is not
nearly as beautiful as mine.”
The
crowd and the young man looked at the old man’s heart. It was beating strongly,
but full of scars, it had places where pieces had been removed and other pieces
put in, but they didn’t fit quite right and there were several jagged edges. In
fact, in some places there were deep gouges where whole pieces were
missing.
The
people stared – how can he say his heart is more beautiful, they thought? The
young man looked at the old man’s heart and saw its state and laughed. “You must
be joking,” he said. “Compare your heart with mine, mine is perfect and yours is
a mess of scars and tears.”
“Yes,”
said the old man, “Yours is perfect looking but I would never trade with you.
You see, every scar represents a person to whom I have given my love – I tear
out a piece of my heart and give it to them, and often they give me a piece of
their heart which fits into the empty place in my heart, but because the pieces
aren’t exact, I have some rough edges, which I cherish, because they remind me
of the love we shared.
Sometimes
I have given pieces of my heart away, and the other person hasn’t returned a
piece of his heart to me. These are the empty gouges – giving love is taking a
chance.
Although
these gouges are painful, they stay open, reminding me of the love I have for
these people too, and I hope someday they may return and fill the space I have
waiting. So now do you see what true beauty is?”
The
young man stood silently with tears running down his cheeks. He walked up to the
old man, reached into his perfect young and beautiful heart, and ripped a piece
out. He offered it to the old man with trembling hands. The old man took his
offering, placed it in his heart and then took a piece from his old scarred
heart and placed it in the wound in the young man’s heart. It fit, but not
perfectly, as there were some jagged edges.
The
young man looked at his heart, not perfect anymore but more beautiful than ever,
since love from the old man’s heart flowed into his. They embraced and walked
away side by side.
How
sad it must be to go through life with a whole untouched
heart.
